Mmmkay. So last Saturday we went to a Jonas Brothers concert with 3 of our other friends, which turned out to be AWESOMEE and was so worth the 40+ days we've waited. We'll take you through the day which was pretty boring until that night.
9:00 - I wake up and go to my piano lesson. (Yeah I've been playing since I was 5, and can also play the flute, yes i was a band nerd and Emily doesn't let me forget it...) Emily stays in bed.
10:00 - I get out of piano, and go to Andrea's house to pick up my cell phone which I left in her car the night before because of the excitement of making t-shirts for the concert. My mom and her parents spent a long time talking while we were there, ignoring my complaints of how I needed to get ready. My t-shirt said: Kevin is my GUITAR HERO; and on the back it said:...he plays on expert; Andrea's said: Jersey girls loves jersey boys [we are fully aware that this is grammatically incorrect but whatevs]; and on the back it said: I'm a "SILLY FAN" [ha. get it?...it's okay it took me a while too...]; the rest of the girls' t-shirts said: WHERE'S GARBO? I <3>
11:00 - After begging to go home, my mom and I finally depart Andrea's house. Emily finally gets up.
12:00 - 4:00 - We spent these hours getting ready and getting ourselves pumped for the night to come by excessively listening to music and youtube videos. Emily arrives at Kaitlyn's house for pictures. I stay home and wait for my mother to get herself ready. The wait was ENDLESS.
4:30 - I FINALLY arrive at Kaitlyn's to find that Kerrie, Emily, and Andrea are already there taking pictures. We take more pictures of us all together...Andrea looks mad in them though because her camera breaks hours before the concert. FIGURES.
5:00 - Kerrie, Andrea, Emily, and I all depart from Kaitlyn's while she waits at her house for her cousin to pick her up to go with.
5:25 - We arrive at the Izod Center. While waiting in line to pay for parking, Kerrie spots a sign on the car that says: HONK IF YOU LOVE THE JONAS BROTHERS, which then makes her jump out of her seat and repeatedly honk the horn of my mom's car. I slouch in my seat in embarrassment. I sit back up when I thought it was all over, but no...when my mom pays for parking she, along with Andrea and Emily, continues to scream about her love for the Jonas Brothers, therefore scaring the lady we were paying. I mouthed: I DON'T KNOW THEM to her hoping she got the message.
5:30 - We got out of the car and spotted the party bus which we ran to and took plenty of pictures. Sadly, we didn't bring markers so we couldn't write on it.
5:40 - We stand around in the cold, waiting for the doors to open. Then I realized Emily looking at me funny. I gave her a questioning expression. Then I heard her say: KIM, PUSH PLAY! PUSH PLAY! I responded with: huh?? I looked past her where I saw CJ and Mandy walk past. Our whole group exchanged high pitched OMG!
6:00 - We depart from each other since we didn't have seats together. Emily left with Kerrie and my Mom. I left with Andrea [FLOOR SEATS!]. Andrea and I waited in line (but it turned out we didn't have to wait in that line). We saw CJ getting mobbed in a corner with a bunch of girls. The line moved and the mob that was following CJ moved closer to where me and Andrea were standing. I ditched Andrea, where she awkwardly waited in line. I took plenty of pictures of CJ and found myself getting closer and closer to him. Finally I asked him if he'd take a picture with me, which he did, which then made me SO EXCITED. I ran back to Andrea to tell her the good news while jumping up and down. People looked at me strangely.
6:30 - After waiting in the cold with what seemed like forever, we finally got in the arena. We waited for Valora to come on. Meanwhile, Emily and Kerrie were looking for Garbo. Sadly, there was no luck.
7:00 - Valora comes on stage, and I kept getting moved from where I was sitting. Andrea and I didn't have the same seats so I just sat in a random seat next to her, but those people eventually came and was then forced to go back to my own seat. Thankfully, I got a nice lady to switch with Andrea so we were finally together for the next act to come on.
7:30 - Rooney comes on and we're rocking out the whole time. Then later in their act, a banana came out with a sign that said: I'M AFRAID! The banana was being chased by someone in a gorilla suit. There's been many theories of who was in the banana suit and gorilla suit, but no one knows for sure. If you know, or have heard another theory, comment and let us know.
8:00 - Rooney's set ends, which leaves us bored and waiting for the Jonas Brothers to come on. Emily calls me and waves with Kerrie, still complaining of how much she wanted to see Garbo. Don't we all. Meanwhile, my Mother stares me and Andrea down, and calls me multiple times asking me if I needed water or was okay, which was odd because I was pretty much right in front of her.
8:15 - Andrea spotted two people being escorted by an entorage down the aisle. I had an aisle seat so I got a good look at them. I didn't realize until they passed me that it was Mr. and Mrs. Jonas. Me and Andrea sat there in shock realizing that we could give them the care package we made for the boys, but later on threw out because we didn't think we'd give it to them. Again, FIGURES.
8:30 - 9:45 The lights dim, the crowd erupts in screams, and the drum beat begins for their entrance. When they finally come out to Year 3000, me and Andrea (and I'm sure Kerrie, Emily, and Kaitlyn too) go crazy. Highlights: Joe's Tango to Goodnight&Goodbye [wow.], Joe dissappearing in Pushing Me Away, Nick's AMAZING Drumline, Burning Up Intro (BECAUSE GARBO<3>absolutely beautiful<3" - Nick") and Joe's AMAZING high note at the end, Nick's speech in A Little Bit Longer and playing the cover to So Far Away by Carole King (classic), and When You Look Me in the Eyes Intro ("I think you guys know the next song...it's called [sings] When You Look Me in the Eyes" Made my life.) I probably didn't cover them all because there was just too many, but you get the idea.
10:15 - Meet back up with Kerrie and Emily and leave the venue to get to the car. We all recall highlights of the show and still in awe of how amazing it was.
11:00 - Get to BK and go through the drive thru, where we (mainly Kerrie) made friends with some boys who were on bikes. Good times.
11:25 - Get to Andrea's house to eat.
11:45 - Leave Andrea's house and drive Kerrie and Emily home. By now, I am so out of it.
12:30 - Get home and feel disoriented. Stayed awake for a little because Emily told me to be online. She never came on (Thanks Em.)
2:00 - Finally go to sleep.
That was an end to the most awesome and long awaited day. Luckily, we were able to score tickets to one of the Burning Up shows this summer. WHOO!
